The City of Livermore Redevelopment Agency hired Watry Design to study the feasibility of providing parking for the downtown, mixed-use Livermore Valley Center project, and the Transit Center next door. The Transit Center is an ACE Train Station with a bus connection. A public workshop process was used during the initial phases of the project to gain consensus on the approach.
The resulting parking structure incorporates brick detailing and color schemes compatible with the historical context of Livermore, as well as the proposed development across the street. The structure is designed to enable lateral expansion when growth of the mixed-use components necessitates additional stalls. Lightwells were incorporated to allow natural light into the interior. The towers were designed to accept a future pedestrian bridge connection.
