Nestled into a hillside at Lake Tahoe, this three-level parking structure was designed to blend with the surrounding development. The structure will be used by the adjacent County Administration Building, commercial offices, nearby retail shops, a transit station, and Kahle Park. The primary entrance to the structure will be from the bottom level. The top deck entrance from Kahle Park will be utilized on weekends and during park events.
Integral color masonry was used to blend the structure into the environment. Rocks line the bottom of the structure, to further blend with the surrounding environment. Wood truss elements play off the surrounding architecture in the area.
This structure is designed to support several feet of snow in addition to traffic loading. The height of the structure has been minimized to preserve the views of the lake from Kingsbury Grade.
