Watry Design, Inc. is proud to announce John Purinton, SE and Principal at Watry Design, has been named as the new Chair of the Parking Consultants Council (PCC).

“I’m honored to be leading this innovative group of parking professionals,” says John. “As Chair, I hope to champion the creative, collaborative philosophy that is a cornerstone of Watry Design to take the PCC and its members to new heights. I look forward to steering the ship as our committees tackle important topics such as mechanical and automated parking, the growing impact of TNCs, increased proliferation of electric vehicles and the impact that autonomous vehicles will have on mobility infrastructure.”

John is a licensed engineer in 8 states and has been creating parking solutions for over 25 years. He leads Watry Design’s Design Build vertical, and is responsible for integrating structural solutions with parking layout and architectural design.

John will serve the PCC with newly appointed Vice-Chair Adam Cochran, Vice-President of Kimley-Horn and Associates, where he has served for over 20 years as a structural engineer. Carl Schneeman, Principal with Walker Consultants, will serve as Secretary.

The Parking Consultants Council is the prestigious, peer-reviewed group of vetted parking consultants comprised of architects, engineers, contractors, vendors and parking management consultants. The PCC fosters information sharing on standards, regulations and trends that impact parking construction, management and operations. It develops best practices and technical educational manuals on parking industry topics, such as the well-known The Dimensions of Parking, published in collaboration with ULI.

The PCC is part of the National Parking Association, the nation’s leading parking trade group advancing the interests of the private and public sector in parking technology, sustainable mobility, certification, advocacy, research and education. Founded in 1951, NPA has more than 2,500 members and represents all facets of the parking industry.
